FAQs

When is the next collab?

Collabs are announced periodically throughout the year. Please make sure to join the Motion Collabs Discord server and follow us on social media (@motioncollabs) to make sure that you don’t miss any announcements of upcoming collabs.

How much experience do I need to participate?

None! Motion Collabs is open to all levels of experience. Whether you’ve been working in the industry for a decade or just started learning a month ago, all are welcome to join!

What programs do I need to know how to use?

Most of the participants use After Effects. However, it is not required. We have plenty of users who work completely within 3D programs such as Blender or Cinema 4D.

What happens if I can’t complete my submission?

By signing up to a collab you agree to adhere to the deadlines and provide the work expected by your fellow collaborators. However, we understand that unexpected things can happen in our lives. All we ask is that you let us know as far in advance as possible if you won’t be able to submit. Failure to submit by the deadline or backing out of a collab may result in being prohibited from participating in future collabs.

How many people will I work with?

It will vary from project to project. Some collabs are focused on smaller groups that work together on a piece, typically ranging anywhere from 2-6 people per group. Some collabs are based on solo pieces. But all collabs are a team effort!

Are there any fees to join?

There are no payments required to join a collab. If you are interested in supporting the group, please consider donating.

Are there any requirements?

To participate you need a discord account. We do all our communications through our server (you don’t have to be an expert though), and we’d like you to commit to submitting something in the end.

Are you interested in selling NFTs?

No.
